The villa is in amongst a group of around 15 villas that
are above the village of Kadiköy.
Kadiköy is a small farming village about 10-15 minutes from
the Saklikent Gorge. It is on the road that runs from the Gorge to the
main Fethiye-Antalya road.
Kadiköy serves the local farming community and some of the
traffic to the Gorge, so it consists of a handful of stores, the
obligatory mosques (apparently the main one in the village is quite a tourist attraction in its own right)
and a carpet weavers co-operative.
There are local stores in the village which have all the basic
supplies. A shave by the local barber is to be recommended! Be prepared
for a cup of apple tea or turkish coffee (medium sweet) whilst you make
your purchases.
Being a rural farming area, the view is always full of interest with
lots of activity. On the local roads, you are likely to find your way
blocked by goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys or tractors or trucks
carrying the latest harvest. We have seen melons, water melons, sesame
and cotton to name a few crops.
